Whole School Stand Up Pledge
30th June 2017
Whole School Stand Up is a new initiative encouraging schools to consider creative ways of promoting physical activity across the school day and how the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and PHE guidelines, focusing on 'move more' but also on 'sit less‘, can be used to encourage more activity, whilst at the same time highlighting issues around sedentary behaviours.
Here at Cathedral we have been on our feet most of the day starting with Breakfast Club, we enjoyed our breakfast stood up, played duck, duck, goose and cups and saucers. We had a reading conga in Class 3, Class 4 enjoyed dancing to some old school favourites, Class 5 made games for the Summer Fayre. Class 1 & 2 joined forces and took part in a range of activities including dancing, an obstacle course and a trip to the park. Class 1 then did more dancing and Class 2 were on their feet making fruit kebab to be sold this afternoon.
This afternoon the whole school were on their feet enjoying the Summer Fayre.
